Summer is almost upon us! Good grief, where does the time go?

How is everyone doing? How are the journal works going?

And the big question; do you all still have an interest in this project?

Give me a holler and let me know.

Happy spring y'all!

Hi y'all! How's it going?

Any ideas where the journals are? Just want to kinda keep some sort of dibs on 'em.

I hope everyone's doing okay. I never did hear back from darklock, so...yah no idea what's happened to her. *sighs* Anyway, I hope y'all have been enjoying the new year thus far.

I'm sure we've all seen and read by now, the new settings and flagging tools. You've probably even seen the little flag at the top of the screen when visiting someone's lj.

I won't go into the whole mish-mosh and repost the whole article, but I did want to bring up the flag options of adult settings. While this comm certaintly does have a basis in 'adult content' in the form of the works produced for the journals, the comm itself is not. It is purely a discussion community for the journal project. (We already know this of course, I'm just laying it out there to cover our collective selves).

In fact, the only restriction that was put in place (that the majority of the comm agreed to) was to restrict members less than 18 years of age from participating in the slash and het journals. But that still leaves them open to contribute to the gen journal. I also recall some discussions related to teen journals, but I have no idea if that portion of the project ever got off the ground.

So there you have it in a nutshell; our little comm does not contain adult oriented material, therefore its settings will not change. Which is impossible to do anyway since darklock would be the only one with that kind of control.

As Charlie Brown would say: "Good grief."

I can't believe we're closing in on December already. Are you ready for it? I'm not. ;p

So anyway - I was curious as to where the journals are. Been a while since we've heard about the gen or slash ones.

Speaking of slash, archae_ology (say hi Meg) wants to join in our little party and write us some slash. I personally can take a wild guess as to who that particular pairing will be. *g*

In other news, I haven't heard a thing from Darklock. I sent her a snail mail letter about two weeks ago, but so far I haven't gotten anything back. *keeps fingers crossed* But we seem to be managing and moving things along.

Now here's a question I gotta ask; in lieu of Darklock's absence, would you all mind if I sorta-kinda became like a mod for this thing? Even though I can't make any direct changes to the comm itself. I'd be more like the occasional stick my nose in and see what's up kind of thing. wait; don't I do that already? Anyways, just let me know. Tell me sure, hell no or get lost - whatever you feel like. Hee.

(I might even hand out virtual cookies) :-)

lttledvl, the journal has arrived.

I'll need to check my picture against the page size - the page in my art journal is a bit larger, so I may have to resize a bit, I don't want to have to fold the picture.

Means I'm going to have to knuckle down and get the pic done now.

I just wanted to pop in and see how folks are doing. Still no luck reaching darklock, but I'm sure she'll be back eventually. Right now, the biggest thing affected by her disapperance is the sister comm fandombound where she's been hosting pics of the journals.

I just friended it as an experiment and it has apparently been set so that only the maintainer can add posts (and that ain't me). So...I suggest we continue on taking pics/scans of the journals as they continue along. And we just 'hold them for now'. If you have harddrive space issues, I'm up for storing them in my photobucket account. Or...we could create a temp photobucket for such purposes. What do y'all think?

Give me a hollar if you have any questions, comments, concerns, etc. Hope all is going well for everyone.

I'm admitting defeat. I had several people on my flist who expressed an interest in taking on the gen journal, but they all fell through. Who's next in the comm?

Anyone interested in helping me run Fandom Bound? Not that it's a huge job. (I'm having medical issues with Pop, whom I'm take care of, and I've the feeling I'm going to be a might squirrelier... squirrellier... flippinfreakedout than usual. *breathes*) She's here. She's not. She's here. She's not. I wish the boat would stop rocking!

*breathes* I did it! We have web space! Almost.

I did go with Web Hosting Buzz. It offered the most (An insane amount of 'most'. 750 gigs of 'most'.) for the least amount of funds. I paid up front for two years with a dedicated IP. I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of it now. I've hesitated adding the most current images to our online journals, as I hope to transfer them to the website. This may take a couple of weeks as they have a really good 'dashboard' but nothing ever goes smoothly for me as far as technology.

I appreciate all of you hanging in there and working with me to get things going!

I am waiting for the additional domains names to go through. Our address will be http://fandombound.org

I also have everymanjack.org and bumi.org. Bumi means Earth. I will be using Bumi for anyone who might want some webspace. EveryManJack is for my crapola and for anyone that might want to use that name instead of 'Bumi' in their webspace address. I have two more domain names 'spaces' available and will use those if things grow. Um... I'm having fun? In an ohmygodmyheadisgoingtoexplode way.

*breathes* If you get the urge to pimp Fandom Bound, please give into it. There are so many more fans out there that I know would like to participate if they knew it existed. After I get the website going, that is something I'll try working on.

Um.... SWEET!!! *skips to my lou*

I'm going to see if anyone on my flist can take it on. If not, I will be in touch within the week to get the name of the next community member.
